Six Days of War

Another book read.

Finished "Six Days of War" today at about 10:23 a.m. Well written, tense narrative. It seemed reasonably even handed to me, but I don't have the background in Middle East affairs to make a definitive judgment. I do know that it made for a whopping good story, and Oren makes the characters breath in your face - Dayan, Eshkol, Nassar, Eban, Johnson, U Thant. The account of the scope of the Israeli military operation, and the speed in which it was executed, complement my earlier reading on Boyd. Maneuver warfare. As the comments on Amazon mention, it does suck mapwise. I could have used about 20 more pages of the "Whatever Happened to ?" chapter. Maybe I should just find another good book the 1973 and Yom Kippur wars.

On deck is "On Killing" - only about 50 pages in, so judgment is reserved at the moment. Interesting so far.
