Took the day off Friday, and rode my bike down to Waterloo to pick up a couple CDs.

Love Is All - Nine Times That Same Song

Rocketing punk disco from Sweden. Short (30 minutes) but raucus set of tunes, with squealing saxaphones, pumping brass and shill vocals shouted over a disco groove. I like it.

Dengue Fever - Escape from Dragon House


Funky Cambodian rock from LA. I'd been listening to "Sni Bong" on my iPod, and had just missed seeing them at Red's Scoot Inn at South by Southwest in March. I hope they come back soon, since I figure their groove based rave ups translate into mind altering performances. Favorite track so far - "One Thousand Tears of a Tarantula."
