The Longest Fuel Pump R&R

Good thing I'm on commission, and not by the hour.

As we left off about six months ago, I was thinking about the fuel pump. Since then, the poor GTV has been sitting in the garage gathering dust. A couple weeks ago, Julie offered to wash the multiple geological strata that had been accumulating on it. So we did. Hmmm.. Looks not so bad all washed up, though I nearly got a hernia pushing it back into the garage.
I figured the Alfa as part of my Larger Vehicle Plan: Sell Ford, Buy Mini. The Mini won't be here until after August, and I want to sell the Contour (2000 SVT Contour - Black over Midnight Blue, 49K miles, no reasonable offer refused) as soon as feasible, ride the Triumph, and the Alfa when it rains.
Alfa! Fuel pump! Stripped down to the old jeans and black T shirt, crawled under there, plotted the wiring, tested the circuit, framed in the bracket -forkin' A, dude! The thing works! It sure pumps that fuel! So hard it sprayed all over the rotting fuel line on the high side.
So now - after a preliminary Go Jo-ing - I sit here high on fumes. A bath, a beer, and tomorrow a length of the finest fuel line money can buy. Can wait to see what explodes next!
Next up - tires.
